In Year Three, Miss Mayle and Mrs Brown help us to have lots of fun and learn a lot too, we enjoy gymnastics, hockey, netball, volley ball AND swimming and there is lots of time for ‘Sing up’ where we find exciting warm ups like Boom Chicka Boom  AND songs such as King Kong King Kong conga, which we love, especially as we have the chance to conga all over the room!

We practice our phonics and learn lots of new spelling rules and handwriting joins which help us to write really well in lots of different styles from mystery stories to Myths and Legends! We also do lots of drama, we enjoy using drama to help us to write well, especially when Miss Mayle has a go too!

Our home corner is a place where we can act out stories and it reminds us how much fun it can be to dress up and play together too! It is a cottage in a wood at the moment but it has been Santa’s shop and might even be a Greek temple in the summer! We also have lots of French prompts in there so it isn’t unheard of for another language to be floating around the classroom, we can count in French, and we use the colour and shape names and even follow French instructions…Sometimes! Mrs Adkin comes in once a week to help us to learn even more, how to introduce our families, talk about our pets and even how to go shopping for fruit and vegetables.

We make films, we learn how to email and we also make fantastic PowerPoint presentations in our ICT suite, we get the chance to design and make a sandwich and a photo frame and also a piece of sewing as well as having the chance to paint, draw, print and plan and take part in different investigations in Science including growing our own plant and dying celery, which we all enjoy doing very much.

We love SEAL and especially enjoy our circle time where we talk about our problems, about things we are pleased with or excited about and where we play games like ‘tangled web’ or ‘blastoff’ which make us listen carefully and think as part of a team, we enjoy all our work on New Beginnings and especially finding out about setting goals and we even achieved our class goal, which was to earn Golden Time by collecting a jar full of marbles!
